I miss it

This past Wednesday I went back to Logan for a review before my big national exam, yo!! I didn't want to drive there by myself since it would have been dark on the way back, so my dad came with me. While I was in my THREE HOUR review, he went to dinner with my brother, Logan. (Logan lives in Logan hahaheehehah) Anyways after that I went to Jamba Juice with my dad before heading back to Idaho.

I used to work at the Jamba in Logan before I moved, and I was excited to see some people I knew! Luckily I knew 2 girls working and I just really miss them. I really miss Jamba. I never thought I would say that. But I made such good friends there and it was so fun and everyone was so friendly and nice and they didn't swear or talk about gross things. It was such a good environment!! I mean, I work in an awesome environment now, but I don't know I just miss living in Logan, I LOVED it there. I miss being around other college students, I miss institute, I miss campus. I am feeling all nostalgic.

Anyways, to all my Logan friends, I miss you and I love you! I am so grateful I know what real friendship feels like.

ps- but I am SO glad that I moved so I could like get married and stuff.. to a boy I met at Jamba in Idaho, haaa.

pps- Cory and I are going to see BILL COSBY this Thursday, I can't even think about it. I love him, I love that man.

Ahh don't you just want to be like, "Bill, we are best friends, I am going to pinch your cheeks now. "

Guess where my keys ended up?

Cory just came up to me and handed me my car keys.

They were wet.

It had been raining outside so I thought thats what it was from but he hadn't been outside with my keys. So I asked him why they were wet.

He said, "Do you need these?"

I said,"Yes probably, where were they?"

"In the garbage disposal."

Then I looked at them

So, the moral of the story is to pay attention to where you put your car keys.  Or else four of your keys will bend when your husband turns the garbage disposal on.

I also put the salt and pepper in the fridge, thank you very much.

How Can I Become the Woman of Whom I dream?

I recently read a talk by Gordon B Hinckley, taken from a General Young Womens' meeting back in 2001. It is titled 'How Can I become the Woman of Whom I dream?

This talk really hit me hard! Am I becoming the woman I dreamed I would be? If not, am I taking those steps necessary to become the woman I have always wanted to be? Here are a few excerpts from his talk, with commentary from me. (If anything I say offends anyone, I did not mean to!)

The best way [to the become the woman you dream of], the only way for you, is to avoid any entrapment with evil. You have within you instincts, powerful and terribly persuasive, urging you at times to let go and experience a little fling. You must not do it. You cannot do it. You are daughters of God with tremendous potential. He has great expectations concerning you, as do others. You cannot let down for a minute. You cannot give in to an impulse. There must be discipline, strong and unbending. Flee from temptation, as Joseph fled from the wiles of Potiphar’s wife.

Now,  I am married so I absorbed this part of the talk differently. We all have powerful instincts persuading us to let go and give into the natural man aka LAZY man. But we cannot give in. We must always be on guard!! Whether it is combating depression, fighting to stay happy when it feels like you are drowning in all your sorrows, or in your own negative thoughts. It can be fighting laziness, or not being snappy with your loved ones. But I realized that I need to be on my game every minute of everyday and never let down, I cannot give into my bad impulses. I always need to be conscious of everything I say, how I treat others and how I spend my time.

There is not anything that you cannot do if you will set your mind to it. You can include in the dream of the woman you would like to be a picture of one qualified to serve society and make a significant contribution to the world of which she will be a part. For you, the sky is the limit. You can be excellent in every way. You can be first class. Respect yourself. Do not feel sorry for yourself. Do not dwell on unkind things others may say about you. Particularly, pay no attention to what some boy might say to demean you. Polish and refine whatever talents the Lord has given you. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life and look for its opportunities, and forever and always be loyal to the Church.

I want the above paragraph to be my own life mission statement.  If I want to become the woman I dream of, the only thing standing in my way is me. I can be first class! I need to stop feeling sorry for myself, I need to respect myself by treating my body better. I need to stop dwelling on the unkind things people have said about me or what I 'think' they are saying about me. And lastly, I need to discover the talents god has given me and use them to benefit others and the church. And I need to put a dang smile on my face and love my life and this wonderful gospel!  I have every reason in the world to be the happiest person alive.

Never forget that you came to earth as a child of the divine Father, with something of divinity in your very makeup. The Lord did not send you here to fail. He did not give you life to waste it...[but] to teach you and lead you and encourage you, to bless you with eternal marriage, to seal upon you a covenant between you and Him that will make of you His chosen daughter, one upon whom He may look with love and with a desire to help. May God bless you richly and abundantly, His wonderful daughters.

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who is always reminding me that I am divine and virtuous and nurturing, he never lets me forget my divine potential or the talents I do have. I am so proud to be a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I hope I can become the woman I long to be. I hope to be able to achieve everything I am supposed to in this life, I do not want to waste my life that was so freely given to me, it would be such a shame to waste my potential.

Thanks for reading my ramblings!!!

27 April 2012

this calls for a venting session

Okay so today I tried going to donate plasma. This is going to sound so superficial, but I have really been wanting to do it, not because we need the money, but I wanted to use it to save up for extra things, like little trips, new church clothes (that I need DESPERATELY, since I got put into nursery, my skirts need to be floor length) and other things like that. So we really don't need it for survival at all, I just want it for fun. Plus I already have the scars from donating it when I went to Utah State.

Anyways I go in today and everything was going fine .. until.. they told me they couldn't accept my DANG address. What the crap?!??! I live at a "transient" location, meaning my address isn't considered "permanent" uh... I wanted to be like, "I'm pretty sure I live there dude, I'm not going to earn 20$ and skip town, also I am not homeless."

But, if they ever got audited, they would get in trouble because of my address and if they made an exception for everyone who had an address like mine, it would be hard to keep up with. I am pretty sure not many people live in a hotel!! Permanently!! I really live there!! Then they said that someone else with my same address came in a while ago and they had the same problem. It was probably my cousin, who lived there before me, it was like I was just using this random address and claiming I lived there. It is even on my driver's license, I swear. BUT I do understand that they have rules and laws that need to be kept. I really do.

Anyways they told me they would try to get more 'clarification' on my 'problem' and call me back and 'hopefully we'll have good news."

I said, "Oh.. probably not, but thanks!!" Then I walked out. I make no sense, maybe I should have said, "Okay thank you!" I was about to burst into tears because I just hated that they made me feel so dumb and like I am in trouble because of where I live, if I even live there. Which, I do.

I can be a real brat sometimes, now I feel kinda bad about it. I just think it is ridiculous. I am a law abiding citizen! And I am really disappointed!!

Okay just real quick...

(I published this in May of 2011 so I have no idea why it suddenly popped up, haha)

My brother Preston and his fiancee Jenny got their engagement pictures taken this past weekend and they turned out beautiful!! Breathtakingly so I might add. They even brought a rowboat! Can you say THE NOTEBOOK! Jenny has that pretty auburn hair and Preston with the scruff on his face. I keep looking at them over and over... And I want you to look at them too!! Click HERE to look at them. And check out the rest of Mikki Platt's photography. She is amazing! Okay have a great day. Let me know what you think.. I just want to cry with happiness right now.

I AM GOING TO DISNEYLAND IN NOVEMBER WITH JOY AND LORALALAA. It is my treat to myself for finishing dental assisting.. if I am finished by then hehehahahohowhowholalagaga. I better be anyways, I need to kick it into high gear.

I can't wait for this weekend. It will be so fun, weather permitting. More to come on that later gators.
