2 things, 2 pictures

Okay, okay I am glad to know that my blog is actually read! Thank you, thank you! This won't be much of a post but just a couple of things that I WILL post about later this week.

1- My little sister Emily cut off 10 inches of her hair and donated it to locks of love. And she asked me to cut it!  Her school had an assembly for it, it was really cool and I am really proud of her.

2- My best friend and cousin in law (if that is such a thing ha) graduated from BYU Idaho! I cant believe she is graduated! She is all grown up. Cory and I went to her graduation and I had a knot in my throat the whole time.  A knot of unshed tears, because now is she is moving onto bigger and better things!  It is crazy how time flies by.

Also, I jumped on a trampoline today! With Cory, my sisters in law Jodee, Andrea, and cousin Mckae! It was really fun, but I got bounced pretty high a few times and that kinda scared me!

Here are a couple pictures for now:

Cory took this and I have no idea what I was doing. But this face = love

Cory wanted to play a game called "pizza roll" where you take all the pillows and blankets you can find, lay them out, and then roll up in them. He said he used to play it with his siblings. I think he was just messin with me.

07 December 2010

So maybe this is confession time..

This Friday I am getting my haircut!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting my hair cut is probably in my top 10 favorite things to do. Which is surprising since my hair has been the same since eighth grade.

(8th grade, maybe 9th- note the hair, and Preston's face in the background)

(14th grade.. hair- oh, dont worry, still the same)

But this time will be different. I am going to do something kind of drastic. Why not? I am starting to make changes (for the better) in my life and I need new hair to help me along. Haha.

Anyways about these changes I want to make. I'm not changing who I am, I'm not trying to change my personality. I just want to be better, more efficient in everything I do.

I want to be
-More kind
-More independent
-More dependable/reliable
-More ladylike
-A person that has lots of hobbies (hobbys?)
-A person that doesn't complain (unless it's about how cold I am, I feel like I can do that excessivley)
-Happier; under any circumstance
-More organized,  less of a slob
-Better at priortizing my life
-Better at managing my money
-Better at studying and doing homework
-Better at reading my scriptures and studying Preach My Gospel (this is at the top)
-Someone that does my own thing and doesn't give a thought to what other's think
-MY OWN PERSON-

I want to figure out who Hayley really is. I am almost 20 I need to do this before I get too old! I want to figure out what I like doing, maybe start having an opinion, I want to try different things,  and see what I enjoy. In other words, I need to leave my comfort zone.

I've always thought of myself as being an extrovert, getting my energy from big groups. But I recently discovered that I'm really not. I most definitely have introvert personality traits. Shocking?? I'm not quiet, or shy and I love talking to people and making new friends, I'd just rather do those things at a small social gathering. Being an introvert doesn't mean you are an anti-social loser. It look me a long time to realize that! Just because the thought of reading a book, or taking a relaxing bath gets me more jazzed than taking time to get ready  to go out and party does not mean I am weird!

Realizing that about myself has given me so much confidence! I am not a defected person! And it's okay if I don't like going to parties every weekend! I still love social gatherings, I still LOVE having fun (I live for it!), but doing/having those things all the time isn't necessary to my well-being and sometimes I just need Hayley-time. Lately I have been feeling THIS. But I am learning to accept myself, and realize that it's okay.
I'm okay.

Another thing. I sometimes want to seem like one of those people that doesn't waste time stalking facebook or blogging. But guess what? I do. I love looking at people's pictures, and reading their blogs. Mind you I restrict my time doing that, but I do keep up on people's lives. And I like it when people keep up on mine.

Just had to write these things down before they left my brain. I want to blog later about going to temple square and seeing the pretty lights. Later though, for now I need to do things like study for finals :)

Visit again soon!

Some Thoughts From Something Inside My Cranial Cavity

Lately I have been missing pageant A LOT. Like my heart would just ache whenever I even heard the word 'hill' haha. I would automatically think of the pageant.

So the other day I was going through some of my stuff and I found the note that Brother & Sister Gonda (our housing parents, I guess you would call them) gave us on the last day of pageant. In Sister Gonda's note was a scripture, which made me feel so good about my time at the pageant.

"Behold I say unto you, how grreat reason have we to rejoice; for could we have supposed when we started that God would have granted unto us such great blessings?... we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work.  Blessed be the name of our God; let us sing to his praise...for he doth work righteousness forever." (Alma 26:1-8)

I was so luck to have been part of the Pageant, and I will treasure my time there for the rest of my life!!

Okay now onto other things.

This summer I have realized two things that I want to write about:

Money is not  that important. I have always felt like I needed to have a lot of money, like large amounts when I grow up. But this past year at school and this summer I realized that I can live on so little and still be happy. Seriously, as long as our needs are met and I have a happy family, husband, and comfortable jeans on I will be fine! I just want to be happy!

This is speaking of the future by the way, the very very distant future. Realizing this has made me more excited than nervous about my future. Weird, but that's just how it is!

I have learned how valuable good friendships are. And how you need different types of friendships! You have those friends who agree with you, and are always encouraging you, even if you are wrong, or being dumb and irrational. Sometimes you need those friends!

Then there are those friends who bring you back to reality. Sometimes it really STINKS to have reality thrown in your face, but sometimes you need it so you don't go babblilng your psycho ideas to other people.I love friends I can laugh with about anything. l love sitting there and laughing my guts out, throwing jokes at each other. Such a good time!

Anyways this past weekend I went to IDAHO!! It was a grand weekend. I had to go home to speak in my home ward : / Lovely. I think it went okay except I went over like 3 minutes! I could have died.

Kellan Riggs homecoming was also on Sunday! Kellan has been one of my dearest friends since High School and I am excited he is home so we can be real life friends again! His talk was awesome, he loved his mission SO much. I think it's awesome these young men go out and teach the gospel for two years! How crazy. And they love it! I really admire all those handsome young men.

So Monday night we went to the pier and chewed gumballs! We each had four, and it was disgusting. Each gumball had 11 grams of sugar. After we were done chewing we spit them into the River! How exciting.  I loved being with my friends this weekend, they are fun, hott, and exciting. And I always miss them when I leave :(

Anyway this was kind of a random post but it's all good.

Remember to buy bread with atleast 3 grams of fiber per serving.

Things that have Happened

Alright just a few things I wanted to blog about my people.

I got one of the best surprises of my LIFE last week, seriously.  I found out Jake Stewart was coming home for an entire week!!

Too bad I didn't know soon enough to get work off! I was still able to come home for a couple days and see him, and it was blissful, what a great kid.

So I worked until 1 on Wednesday and went home and hung around with my family for a few hours, then I went over to Jakes, and watched the last bit of the American Idol finale ( congrats Lee), speaking of AI I did not even watch it this season. It just wasnt as cool as it usually is.

(happy because David Archuleta was on AI, what a cutie!)

I left Jake's and drove up to Rexburg to have a sleepover with JOY! She is such a joy in my life, I do not know what I'd do without that ray of sunshine. I watched her play flag football and she dominated the entire world! They won 16-9? Or something like that. Anyway it was fun to watch even though it started raining.

(Pro)

The next day I went to Joy's classes with her, just to see what things were like up at BYU-I. Overall it was really fun! I like the campus, except that it is on a hill, that  made me sweat.

It would catch me way offguard when we would be talking about depression in her women's health class and the professor started talking about Heavenly Father. At first I was like, "WHOA WHAT!?" But then I got used to it until her Child development class. The professor walks in and says, "Alright what is our opening song?" Haha it caught me SO off guard. But I do think it is really cool.

(Oh just super excited to go to class)

I've heard that there aren't any cute boys up in Rexburg. Ladies, open your eyes because I saw quite a few!

(No men like this though, I just really enjoy this picture)

After Joy's classes were over I went back to Idaho Falls and took a nap for like, ten minutes.  Then Brock, Jake, and Court came over and we made posters for some of our friends graduating that night. I can't even believe how long it took to make posters. Sheesh. I even colored with a crayon because my marker ran out of ink. I haven't done that for a while, it was pretty exciting.

(Made my Court)

Graduation was long and boring, and super super hot.  But it was fun to see most of my friends! Bracken was a valedictorian so he spoke at graduation and he was really funny! At one point in his speech he said something like, "Some of my favorite memories from High School include Emily Austin pushing me up against the locker and kissing me.. oh wait that was a dream." He said that at GRADUATION in from of so many people! Hahaha it was so funny.

After graduation everyone came to my house and we had a blast! We played "What if" like we do every time we are together, we made funfetti cookies, the usual. It was so fun to catch up with everyone and see people I haven't seen in FOREVER!

(What a cutie)

(I worked at jamba with Parker and Chelsie; and Danielle the girl next to me is in my home ward! Love them!)

(This picture brings so much joy to my soul, two of my best friends!)

(Alli and I. Oprah hugging. I miss her everyday)

(Kimberlee, I miss her crazy stories!)

Some of  you may have seen my facebook status and I wanted to expound a bit. The other day my mother said, "You known if we lived in the pioneer days Jill would be crippled, Logan would be blind, Preston would be dead, Hayley would be ugly, and Emily would be the only normal one." They used it as the inspiration thought in RS. HAHA. It is so true though. Jill was born with a clubbed foot, Logan's eyes never fully developed or something like that, Preston has a titanium heart valve and a pacemaker, I used to have the most fangled teeth ever. And Emily is just normal. Wow I am super grateful I was born in this day and age!
(So thanks to things like surgery, artifical hear valves, contacts, mascara and braces, we are all halfway normal!)
One  last thought.
I called my mom yesterday because I had a question about chicken. So I asked, "Hey mom when I broil chicken do I have to turn it over?" A legitimate question, for I had never broiled chicken. Then she just starts laughing and says, "That is the dumbest question anyone has ever asked me." and I said, "No I really don't know, don't laugh at me." So then she says, "When you boil chicken you just put it in the water and let it boil." Then I started laughing way hard because I said 'broil' not 'boil' so then we both laughed for longer than necessary.  Hahaha wow that is probably the dumbest story ever but it's okay I know you enjoyed it. Oh, and I broiled my chicken and you do turn it over. It was so good!

Other than that, nothing really interesting has happened, I love living in Logan but I need to get some pals! It gets a little lonely. Good thing I have the hippeset roommates ever! Love you  Sam and Nichole!

Lots of Happenings

Okay GEEZ I got a blog and I have not been faithful to it. I apologize. So I will just catch up on life!! I know my last post was in November but I will go clear back to August 15, 2009, the day I moved to Logan, Utah.

I moved in and then went to Salt Lake for our friend from Maple Valley, WA.  We were able to eat at Texas Roadhouse and it was really good. Kirsten also slipped and fell so that was pretty funny.  After the reception my family left! My mom cried, I was excited, and it was cool.

The first few weeks of school were SO busy I took the connections class and they introduced us to campus and we got to do service for CAPSA, a really good experience.

Fast forward to October 25, 2009, Dallin Fishers farewell.  Dallin is my cousin and he is amazing! He is in the San Diego, California spanish speaking mission, currently still in the MTC but he leaves January fifth for Cali, good luck Dallin!

The week of halloween was good, me and the roommates carved pumpkins!! I carved a kitten, cute eh?

I did not end up going to "The Howl" I went the year before with Chloe Ence and it was alright haha, kind of weird actually. Instead I met up with my brother and a few of my cousins and went to LAGOON! It was such an awesome day! I love my cousins so much they are probably theee coolest people around.  After Lagoon, Kirsten, Josh, and Dallin came back to Logan with me and we went to Jills party and hungout there for the night. The next morning I had to say bye to Dallin which was SO hard!! Worse than when Preston left! But I know he is going to do great things and he writes great letters so I'm good now :)

For Thanksgiving break I went home to Idaho Falls and had good food at my house, Todd and Julie's kids are always fun to play with! We went and saw New Moon and yes I too think Jacob is yummy delicious.

I did not want to go home after Thanksgiving break because that meant FINALS were coming up! I did pretty well on all of them, considering it was my first semester of school. I was just glad when I finished and got to go home for a whole month. But the weekend before finals I went to the DAVID ARCHULETA concert in Rexburg. Candace Cramer and I had fourth row floor seats, needless to say it was amazing! Benton Paul opened and he is so good.
Yeah we were close

Christmas break has been so amazing, I have the coolest friends anyone could ask for and we always have so much fun together no matter what we do. Sometimes we just sit around, sometimes we are crazy, sometimes we are just plain weird but I love it! At the beginning of the break, Makel Michael had a Christmas Sweater/Bring your own mug party, what a fun idea! It was definitely cool.
For Christmas Eve we always go to the Grandparents house and this year I made sure everyone wore red and green just to spice things up a bit! Logan didnt really cooperate but atleast he had blue and orange on, its close!

My Grandma Chatterton went to Dough & Melanies for Christmas so we got to babysit her cute Pomeranian Sampson!!

We threw a New Years Eve party at Jake's house, the turnout was great and the party was REALLY fun, I had a blast! Oh and Jake's mom has this kitten named Gabby and she is SO cute I just wanna squeeze her!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (Unfortunately I didnt get a picture with her)

School starts next Monday and I am dreading it/excited. I really hope second semester is better than last semester. Fall semester was really fun and everything, just kind of awkward for me haha with the adjustment and making new friends. But this is a new year, new semester and ANYTHING could happen right? Thanks for reading!!
