Our first apartment, first Christmas tree!

So, Cory and I just recently moved from our old stinky apartment into a much, much nicer one. Like, drug dealers don't even live by us anymore! We live with different honeymooners or 50th wedding anniversary celebrator's! We live at a hotel, not in a room, but in an apartment. And we love it! It is so fun. As my cousin Jan said, we are the 'innkeepers' haha. Anyways we set up Christmas at our old apartment even though we moved before Christmas day. So here are some pictures from setting up our 3 ft tall tree. Oh, I will also post some pics of things we have been up to. Don't worry, you'll see what I mean.

This picture was actually taken for one of those cool b&w profile pictures that Megan (my sis-in-law) made for Cory's mom! It turned out really cute. I just wanted you all to see Cory's beard

These pictures are really out of order because blogger won't let me move them, it is also underlining EVERYTHING I type and it is driving me crazy! Anyways this is Cory smelling his fingers. ( I think he was actually about to scratch his nose but you never know.)

Cory putting the lights on the tree

This is my bathroom shelf that my sister Jill gave to me for $5! What a steal! It is so useful since I have so much crap.

This was our kitchen at the old apt. I tried to make it feel homier than it actually was. It was really cold in there so I always had like 3 layers on and I would leave the oven open after I cooked something in there so I could have the heat!
My snowman! Isn't he great? I think he is fabulous.

The living/family room. My siblings refinished that table for us! I love it. Cory loves the tv.

This is Cory's hair. I didn't realize how long it had gotten! Kind of funny. I really need a haircut too! It is so hard to find the time to go. I didn't realize how busy life gets once you are married. I guess I kind of thought we'd get to be with each other all the time, all day, never leaving the each other's side! But it isn't like that, which is just how life goes. But marriage is wonderful. I have the most wonderful husband who is so kind and so perfect for me. Life is great!

Maybe I will be in a few pics in my next post. I am always behind the camera now! And maybe I will put a picture of the finished tree on here! Wouldn't that be neat?

Hello, world (Hi Karly)

Wow it has been a long time since I blogged!! Well first things first, I am now a married woman! On November 11th Cory and I sealed the deal, eternally. We will be together forever! I wish I had pictures to post, but I don't. I'm actually not even on my computer right now. But I will tell a story.
For our short lil' honeymoon we decided to make our way down (over?) to Park City and spend a couplefew days there. Once there, I discovered that I forgot my: hairstraightener, blowdryer, a COAT, some make up, razor, shaving cream, and I brought like 1 shirt but packed 6 cardigans. Really Hayley? Anyways we stopped at walmart and I got everything I needed. I even bought a puffy red coat for 20$ which I do wear! I like it okay!
I will write more about the wedding and newly married life shenanigans later, once I have some pictures. I will also throw a Thanksgiving post in there, maybe. I have only seen like 6 pics from our wedding day! Tragic! Merry Christmas!!!!

I will post pictures next time.

Engagment Pictures

Here are a few of our engagement pictures. Our photographer is SO awesome. She even got Cory to pay attention! Her name is Jaclyn Davis -HERE is her facebook page, and HERE is her website. Be sure to check her out, okay? She does such a great job and is SO fun to work with!!!

Anyways just an update- I am all moved back to Idaho Falls, and while it is good to be back I do miss all of my Logan peeps, holla! Jk I have never even said that before. I promise that will never happen again. I do enjoy being able to be with Cory EVERYDAY. I thought it would be kind of an adjustment--you know, telling someone what I am doing every evening and not just wasting my time like I usually do. I have always been pretty independent and I usually do whatever I want, so I thought it would be hard for me to not have "Hayley time" all the time. Is that weird? Anyways it hasn't been hard at all, now I don't even like that I have to wait all day to see him! It'll be nice when I can see him right when I wake up, morning breath and all. I hear it still exists in marriage ;)

I'm complaining

So this weekend ended up being kind of crazy, so crazy that Cory and I don't get to see each other AT ALL. That means we have to go 2 weeks without seeing each other!! I had to work late friday, then pull a double on Saturday, and in between my shifts is right when Cory works, so we don't even get to talk today. It drives me nuts and it makes me cry. There are things to be planned and talked about with the wedding. This really is torture for me, haha. I shouldn't even complain because one of my best friend's husband is in Afghanistan right now and she doesn't get to see him for a year! Plus he's at war!! Cory is just in Idaho Falls working. And I'm complaining about 2 weeks.  Also I am missing Joy's birthday party tonight which I am really sad about, ew.

It's times like these that I am SO excited to move back to Idaho Falls.. but I am so so sad to be leaving Logan. I have so many awesome friends here, and I've had my best and worst times in this city. I am just going t hrough a whirlwind of emotions with this whole relocating my life thing.

Anyways, I need to be strong like Cory. He just does the best he can with whatever situation he is given, most of the time without complaining. Sometimes I feel bad that he has to see me through this storm of emotions, haha. It'll be great.

68 days, yo! (I think)

I am marrying the love of my life in 68 days!!!!! I can't believe it is coming up that fast. I am so so excite but I am also kinda freaking out because there is so much to do! It's okay though, I figure it'll all be worth it ;)

Anyways I was thinking the other day about how lucky I am to have Cory, I have seriously liked this boy for four years, it almost seems too good to be true. He went with me to meet with our photographer, he went to an antique store with me, he went to go talk to a decorations person with me, he reminds me to send him links to things I want him to look at, he went and registered at bed, bath & beyond with me (his suggestion), he also suggested going we go look at tuxes. Who is this boy? What boy wants to do all those things and actually enjoys it?  Well Cory does!! It cracks me up, but I am more grateful for him than I even know how to say.

I really just love being around him, which means being apart is hard and crappy. We say our goodbye's on Sunday and by Wednesday I am just like, ew.

Wedding plans are well underway! I have my dress, I know what the bridesmaids and groomsmen are wearing. We know what we're doing with centerpieces and refreshments.... hopefully it all will resemble what I'm picture in my head. And if it doesn't then.. that's too bad! It will still be the best day of my life I'm sure.

Sorry this is dull but my brain is pretty much short circuiting all the time now so I can't remember what I even really wanted to blog about!!!  Anyways I really really really really love Cory, even though he doesn't know a lot about Harry Potter.
(WAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is Emily, not me)

(Hopefully this makes you feel better)

Dear people I live around,

Is it really necessary to vacuum at 12:30 am when I am trying to sleep and I've already had a very annoying day?

Love,

I am an engaged woman!!!

That is right folks, crazy crazy crazy!!! So I will tell this whole story from the beginning.. this might be really long so if you don't want to read the whole history, scroll down to THE PROPOSAL.

So Cory and I have known each other since I was 16 and he was 17.. we worked at JAMBA JUICE together, hahaha. I kind of hate that but it's funny. Anyways our days of working together were filled with sarcasm, the fun kind. I actually had a crazy crush on him and I would tell my best friend Joy about it all the time, even when I was "dating" other boys.. I still liked Cory. Joy is actually Cory's 1st cousin, crazy! He was my favorite person to work with and I would NEVER ever admit it to any of my coworkers no matter how much they tried to get it out of me.. but when he quit I finally told the  truth.

(this is Cory ignoring me at all-state choir 2008. I think he was mad because I made fun of him when he tripped getting off the bus.. ;)

Cory and I hung out a few times in high school, okay maybe like once and they (Cory and his friends)hid from us because they were playing "secret agent" aka they ditched us. After that I kinda forgot about him on purpose until his mission farewell, which I did end up going to! Then I saw his big beautiful brown eyes and thought.. I'm going to write him. I went to tell him he did a good job after which is where we shared our first earth-shattering hug. It lasted almost 1 second. After that I went to his house with Joy, and when I was leaving there we shared our second hug. That too lasted almost 1 second.

Then Cory left on his mission to California and I continued life as normal.. finishing up my senior year, starting my first year of college, then my second. We wrote about every 3 or 4 months and I always enjoyed his letters SO much. I always looked forward to them. When he would send them to my house in Idaho instead of Utah I would not only make my little sister read them to me over the phone, but if he sent a picture I had her take a picture of the pictures he sent with her phone, then had her send them to my phone. (I rewrote that sentence four times so I hope it makes sense).

Anyways, then came the letter that said, "I get home January 26!!" Then I died.

Okay he sent me that right before Thanksgiving 2010 so I was like, "Oh that's awesome I want to marry him!" Haha just kidding I really was thinking, "Oh it would be fun to see him and catch up!"

January 30, the day of his homecoming came and I crammed into a pew with Joy and her family to listen to his homecoming talk. It was so good. After, we talked for literally 3 seconds before this boy swooped in to talk to him. Then I left and I didn't go to his house. I thought that was it. It was good to see him and talk for a second, now I can move on and stop wondering about this Cory boy!

Well we ended up talking 2 weeks later on facebook and he asked me for my number! He called me the next day and asked me out for that weekend since I would be in Idaho anyways. (I really wasn't planning on going to Idaho but when he said he wanted to take me on a date I quickly changed my plans)

Our first date was so fun! He was such a gentleman and the conversation was good!

The rest is history folks.. we would go out whenever I came home, he came to Logan, we talked on the phone almost every night... then came the marriage talk!! When this topic came up I knew I wanted to marry him so the conversation was welcomed with smiles, laughter, tears, hugging. It was a good day.

Take a break from reading and enjoy these pictures...

The proposal:

In the following weeks we set a date, went ring shopping, started planning... it was a whirlwind kind of thing!!

I didn't really know when Cory was going to propose, he said, "it could happen anytime!!" So after we looked at rings I was suspicious at everything he would do or say.

But a week after we looked at rings I didn't think he could possibly have one already!! Welp.. I was wrong!!

July thirtieth was a day like any other.. I woke up.. lounged around.. got ready..went to Cory's.. then to my cousin Gretchen's wedding reception (CONGRATS Gretchen!!)  After that we went to my favorite place to eat dinner, Texas Roadhouse. Cor was really anxious to get out of there because he didn't want to miss the sunset! We finally got out of there and headed for the hills!

On the way up to the windmills we were practicing our times tables, maybe some long division, Cory also taught me the quadratic formula song! Everything was really lighthearted and fun. When we got to a good spot we got camping chairs out of the trunk of his car and set them up. After we sat down Cory said, "Hey there is a part that's broken on your chair, it's just in the bag, will you get it?"

So I reached in the bag and felt a box.. A RING BOX. I was shocked. How could he get a ring that fast. I was so surprised that I didn't even open the box. Instead I turned around to look at him and he was already on one knee, ring in hand, looking at my with that cute smile. Then he said, "Will you marry me?" Then I died.

But really I burst our laughing, my response to being surprised I guess.  About five minutes after it happened he said, "Wait did you say yes?"  I'm pretty sure I did. But regardless of if I said yes or not, we are getting married on November 11, 2011..11.11.11!!!

I couldn't be more excited to marry Cory!!! He is always kind, thoughtful, sweet, funny, hard working, willing to help, and so many other wonderful things. We always have fun no matter what we're doing. I guess to sum it up I will just say that I am so in love. And I will be forever. Here are some things I love about Cory:

I like how he can lift one eyebrow much higher than the other one
When he is telling a story or talking about something that exasperated him he crosses his eyes a little bit and moves his lower jaw to one side
He tells me how he feels about me. Often.
He is so gifted with music. You should see him play the organ.
He is so very patient with me and my girly dramatic habits. He is always saying, “I understand, I see what you mean.”
He is a hard worker at everything he pursues, including his church callings and priesthood responsibilities.
He is kind to his family and the elderly
He just really wants to do what is right
I love his big beautiful brown eyes

I hope that was sappy enough for everyone. If it wasn't I can always dish out more!!

Here are some random pictures of us from the past few months and from the night he proposed
